Approach

Many industrial businesses operate within systems that have evolved over decades—sourcing structures, distribution relationships and pricing models that function well enough but are rarely examined closely.

Howard Kastner approaches these environments from an owner-operator’s perspective, shaped by decades in fastening systems and the operational realities of industrial sourcing and distribution. He is especially interested in how incremental improvements in commercial focus, systems and sourcing can create real-world advantage.

Through Lyon Strategy, he works with companies looking at modernization, margin improvement, operational refinement and new avenues for growth. His approach combines a strong understanding of industrial systems, customers and relationships with a forward-looking perspective informed by current master’s-level research in executive marketing and strategic communication at NYU.

Lyon Strategy also serves as a platform for projects Howard is exploring within industrial supply markets, including new product concepts and business models—particularly in traditional industries where de facto standard approaches leave room for new thinking and greater efficiency.
